Evaluation - Question 1 | Step 1
Throughout my magazine
I created a house style by using continuity; by using the same colour scheme
(black, white, red and yellow) and using the same band on the front cover,
contents page and double page spread. The double page spread and contents page
link together as they have the correct page numbers to link them. Most of my
features are in the conventional places for example the masthead is in the correct
place. One thing that is not conventional is the cover lines on the front
cover; this is because they could not fit in the conventional places.

Double page spread conventions/LIIAR analysis
L: Completed in image.
I: The institution is Kerrang!. Kerrang! paid for My Chemical Romance, who are a large and successful band, to be on their front cover which shows they are a big magazine and can afford to pay for big bands/artist to feature in their magazine.
I: This issue of Kerrang! is focusing on the 'emo' scene; this can be seen through the use of colours, which are dark. We can also see this through the chosen images as they all look serious and emotional.
A: The target audience for this issue of Kerrang! would be fans of My Chemical Romance and/or just fans of rock/metal music.
R: The band are represented as emotional and committed; we can see this through the mise-en-scene as in all of the images they look very serious and are contributing to the music.
